Preserving tax exemptions a legislative priority
Reapportionment is on the 2002 Florida legislative agenda and, barring a major new economic or political issue, how congressional and state Senate districts get re-carved will probably be the primary focus of attention.
Already the reapportionment process has changed the way things happen in Tallahassee. Instead of the traditional March opening date, the 2002 legislative session is scheduled to convene on Jan. 22. The starting day was moved up to allow time for possible special sessions that will be devoted primarily to reapportionment.

Educational marketing tour travels out West
Beef cattle producers from Florida embarked on a journey out west to discover how they could enhance the profit of their cow-calf operations.
Florida Farm Bureau, the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences and Florida Cattlemen’s Association organized the Beef Producers Educational Marketing Tour to help educate the small- to mid-size cattle producers about each segment of the beef chain from cow-calf to consumer.
