Farm Bureau pays for new building at
FFA Leadership Center
(GAINESVILLE, Fla.) - Florida Farm Bureau Federation (FFBF)
and the Florida Farm Bureau Insurance Companies will deliver
a check for $225,000 to the Florida FFA Foundation to fund construction
of a villa at the Florida FFA Leadership Training Center, 5000
Firetower Road, near Haines City, Fla.
The Foundation provides more than 7500 awards,
scholarships, meal events and travel funds to 14,000 FFA members
throughout Florida. It also owns and operates the Leadership
Training Center, which provides a place for chapter retreats,
workshops, teacher training facilities and summer camps. The
center has hotel-style accommodations as well as six villas,
three complete with kitchens.
“Florida Farm Bureau is a strong supporter
of FFA and other youth programs,” said Scottie Butler,
FFBF general counsel and a member of the FFA Foundation board
of directors. “We are pleased to team with the Florida
Farm Bureau Insurance Companies to build this villa at the Leadership
Training Center, which is one of the finest FFA centers in the
nation.”
